Welcome baby

Last weekend I had the privilege to co-host my besties baby shower.  We will be
welcoming sweet Gemma in October and I can't wait.

It's so incredible watching some one you know transform.  And now I get to
watch her become a mother to this very lucky little girl.

We have been friends since high school.  Spending many of years in the bars lamenting about
stupid boys and dead end jobs. And now look at us.
Now, commiserating about clueless husbands that we adore.
but instead of the bars,
we are drinking in our living rooms.
 Still just as fabulous!

Onto the next chapter!

 I love this journey!

Here is the deal-
You use their themes or use your own - just let us know what is 'currently' up with you! go check it out.....

This weeks themes... craving, cleaning, daydreaming, growing, reading

This week I have been craving some yummy Korean food.  And not the fusion kind, although that has helped in a pinch.  I am craving me some down home cooking.  That sort of food that brings immediate comfort.  Max has been asking for peanut butter sandwiches. Which is always his go to food.  It is so cute when he asks for it. How can I say no.  Even if it is 9am.

I am always cleaning.  At least it feels that way.  I am not sure if I have always been this anal about it, but man, I feel like it is constant.  And things still just aren't ever clean enough.  I am trying to coax Max into this as well.  It doesn't always work.  Even if I threaten the amputation of his favorite appendage or toy.  Nope, not doing it.  Every once in awhile a sour patch kid will suffice, but it is few and far between.

I am daydreaming of being a new mama again.  What two little kiddos will look like.  How our family will change.  I am also daydreaming about what our family will be like if we don't expand, if we can't get preggo or.....whatever.

Max is growing and growing.  I swear he wakes up bigger and more capable.  My BFF is also growing.  She is due in October!

Right now I am reading a lot about photography and trying to teach myself some new tricks.  Its hard because there is so much information out there.  I think a class is next on my agenda.  Max is still reading a ton of books about cars, trucks, and diggers.  Those are his favorite.  I try and throw in a book on sharing dinosaurs just to make him more well rounded.

Sweet Baby Audrey

I love me some babies! And I can honestly tell you it hurts my ovaries to see such sweetness.  And why is it when you want a baby, it seems like everyone, EVERYONE is pregnant!

Snapping pics of this sweet little one was so fun, and getting the family involved was even better.  Newborns are delicious!

some more family shots

I love getting the opportunity to take pictures of friends.  This is the second time I have shot these kiddos.  This time the Daddy was available too.  Its funny how no one really likes their picture taken, myself included.  It's a fun challenge trying to make it interesting for people.  Especially toddlers.  They never want to hold still, or smile.  I will become the photo whisperer, damn it.  I will find that perfect photo recipe.

I took this at my favorite place, the Sculpture park.  I love the contrasts between metal and nature.  Aren't they cute!

we love visitors

Our dear friends Sara and Grace came up for a visit to the Pacific Northwest.  Grace and Max have the exact same birthday and were born only hours apart.  I think they are some sort of universe kin.  It's cool to see two little ones exactly the same age.  How they act, the milestones they are achieving.  The difference between boy and girl, good and evil lol.  Since both are Cancers, both are moody.  I'd say Max more.  They took turns who would be more moody in the morning hours.  Who would shun kisses and who would welcome them.  These two were peas in a pod though. A cute little team.

With only a few days to spare, we got right on the tourist wagon.  I took them to Pike's Market, the Aquarium, Red Robin on the waterfront, on a ferry and to the beach.  We managed to pack all that into three nights.  And us mama's even sneaked in a date night as well.

beach life

Have I mentioned how much we love Alki.  We ride our bikes here about once a week.  It's our family scheduled outing.  We ride about 8 miles to the beach.  Grab a slice of pizza and a grape soda. A perfect little routine with the perfect setting.

Family Pictures year Three

As much as the hubby belly aches about getting his pictures done, I know in 20 years from now he will really appreciate it.  Myself, I love them and look forward to them every year.  Which says a lot because I hate having my picture taken.  You have to trust your photographer to make you look....presentable.  And Max, he looks so handsome.  Although he wouldn't keep his tongue in his mouth for most of them.  Also another great skill of a photographer!  Shooting toddlers is no joke, but so worth it when you get that shot!

And I am loving the wagon!
