My lil helper....

Isn't he cute?  I typically think so too, unless I'm trying to get something done.

He is super interested in all things electronic.  He loves our computer, the iPad, our phones, the printer, remotes....must I go on?

Like I said, it's usually pretty cute,  the other day we caught him on his cell phone chatting up a storm.  I'm not sure who he was talking to but I think he was conducting some serious business. Just like daddy.

Danger danger

This stuff is no joke.
If you haven't already, I suggest you run to your nearest Trader Joes right now and grab this tasty lil dessert disguised in a "healthy" jar.

Add a lil honey, jam and cookie butter to an English muffin.

Pure decadence!

You can thank me later,

Mama

The family is off on yet another adventure. We are headed to Albuquerque, New Mexico to see friends and family. Max will meet Grandmar Defraia for the first time!!!!

Wish us luck!

This weekend was a break.  A little break from real life.
From scheduling play dates, changing diapers, meal planning, tantrums and night time feedings.

But it was also a break from my monster.
Late night snuggles, giggles, kisses, and reading stories.

I really hadn't anticipated missing my boys so much.  Sounds a tad harsh, but I mean it in the sweetest way.
But seriously, it took me by surprise.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't as I was sobbing in my mojito wishing Max was climbing all over me.  But I missed my family.
Does that make sense?

I kept seeing lil kids playing in the pool, splashing around.  I kept trying to guess their age.  I may have also walked into more than one toy store looking for something special for my monster.

Over all though, it was a must needed, much appreciated break.  I look forward to more in the future.  I think it is important to take breaks.  To just relax, refocus and recharge.

It does a mind/body/soul good!

having one of those days

I love this picture for two reasons.

1. I am a Red Sox fan
2. Who doesn't love a toddler with an attitude?

Watching Max during his tantrums is both kind of hilarious and kind of gut wrenching.  Its strange as a parent, watching unsavory behavior and knowing that you must continue your position as to teach a life lesson.

Who ever thought I would be in a position to teach any lesson.

God help us now.

Mama-cation

This weekend was absolutely joyous.  A dear friend of mine, L and I flew to Santa Monica for a mama-cation, and as the word implies it was two fun mamas needing a serious vacation.

We left at the crack ass of dawn on Saturday to arrive poolside by 11:30 am.  Any why yes, the picture below is of a Mojito
And it was damn tasty!

done-zo

This weekend, my girlfriend and I went on a weekend trip (more on that later).  It was my first trip away from my boys.  I'm not gonna lie, I was a little nervous.  Nervous for the hubby, since he has never done it solo before, and nervous for the monster because, well his mama was gonna be gone.  But truly I was more nervous for him because this was the final separation from the boob.  That's right folks, we started at weening, and now we are officially done-zo.

Now this is a little bitter sweet for me as I have mentioned before.  It now feels like my monster is no longer a baby.  He is a little boy.  It's a hard transition.  Cool in that I am watching him learn so much every day, but hard in that I will never swaddle his tiny body, or nurse him to sleep.

But enough with all that sappy shit.

Max is growing up into a fine young lad, and he can hardly be bothered.  He is very busy taking charge, talking on his cell phone, and driving his dump truck.

Adios baby Max, there's a new boy in town!
